Yin Yang Master(陰陽師) is a government position under the Ritsuryo system(律令制) in ancient Japan. They were in charge of divination(占筮) and geomancy(地相) according to Yin Yang tao(陰陽道). In the Middle Ages and Early Modern Period, it referred to those who practiced private prayer and divination in the private sector, some of whom were seen as a type of priesthood.
