The Shogun(将軍) was originally a title given to the commander of a large army, a government position appointed by the emperor. But after Minamoto no Yoritomo(源頼朝), who established the samurai government, was appointed Seii Tai shogun(征夷大将軍), It was come to be recognized as the leader of the Samurai class.
